Chapter: 51 of ?
Justice Comes
from Saint Michael
SAINT MICHAEL,
the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our defense against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray;
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into Hell Satan
and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world
for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Chris had found Nadia, tied up in the basement in a chair all
alone.
When he stepped through the door he saw her look of surprised as
he entered the dim-lit area.
“Christopher? What are
you doing here? Have you come to rescue
the damsel in distress?” she asked sarcastically.
“Ha! Ya wish!” Chris retorted.
Nadia eyed him suspiciously and saw something different about the
blond man’s demeanor and stance.
“Chris?” she asked tentatively.
“Sorta,” came the replied.
“Mickey!” spat Nadia.
“Oh, I love to hear the sound of my name spoken with such
hatred. Can ya say that again?” said
Chris teasingly.
“I…I thought…thought that maybe…”
“Ya thought that maybe if ya gave me the drug again it would
bring Chris back. Silly girl, don’t ya know tricks is for kids,” said Chris
giggling.
Nadia stared at him hard.
She did not like this other persona of Christopher Larabee. There was something much like her in him and
she knew as she knew herself, that he would be hard to control.
“Why are you here, Mickey?”
“Well, Chris is lettin’ me deal with all the bad and nasty things
right now. And guess what? You’re one of them,” said Chris moving
closer to her.
Nadia watched as Chris moved slowly towards her. He finally ended up straddling her on the
chair, methodically brushing his fingers through her long black hair. He then
leaned in close to her neck and breathed in deeply, leaving Nadia tingling all
over at the sensation.
“What…what are you doing?” asked Nadia befuddled and aroused.
“Oh, nothin’. Just
puttin’ to memory your scent,” said Chris tantalizingly licking her neck.
“And…and now?” asked Nadia, her eyes closing as she reveled in
his touch.
“Just puttin’ to memory your touch,” said Chris kissing her
gently on the lips.
Nadia sighed. She could
get use to this.
As Mickey watched Nadia’s body stir with want of him, he then
took one her lips into his mouth and bit down hard, causing Nadia to scream in
pain as blood ran down her lip. Mickey
then licked it up and moved away, smiling wickedly at her.
“What the hell was that for?” yelled Nadia.
“That, my dear, was me puttin’ to memory your taste before I kill
ya,” laughed Mickey, his eyes glaring at her as if they were the fires of hell.
“Mickey…Mickey, wait. We
can work something out,” said Nadia quickly trying to calm the man down and to
save her own hide.
“Yeah, ya said that before and then ya tried to screw me. Fuck you, bitch! Ya ain’t dealin’ with Chris
now, ya dealin’ with me and I have no feelings for ya whatsoever, ya get me?”
Nadia did not flinch. It
would take more than words to hurt her.
“What do you want then, Mickey?
If you’re going to kill me then get it over with. I’m tired of playing games with you.”
“I can’t believe this.
Nadia tired of playin’ games?
This is a fuckin’ first, if I must say so myself. Listen up slut! There are some things I need to get straight first in order to
get my life back and takin’ care of you is one of them,” said Chris with venom
dripping from his tone.
“But,” said Chris holding a finger in the air, “If I thought that
maybe ya valued your life and would do something for me, then I might
reconsider and spare ya from a fate worst than death.” Chris smiled waiting for Nadia to take the
bait that was dangling in front of her.
He knew she had no choice, but you could never tell when it came to
Nadia.
Nadia sat pondering Mickey’s offer. She did not trust him. It
was Chris, she could easily gauge how to proceed, but Mickey was an enigma and
something she had never dealt with before.
But she realized her options were minimal and he probably knew she had
no choice but to take him up on his offer.
“Okay, Mickey. Let’s say
that I do this one thing for you. What
are you going to do for me?”
“I already told ya. I’m
going to let ya live.”
“How do I know that you’ll keep your word?”
“Look at who’s callin’ the kettle black?”
“I guess I don’t have a choice, do I?”
“No, ya don’t,” answered Mickey patiently.
“Alright. What is it you
want me to do?”
“All I want ya to do is confess to Roberto about what his son
Marco has planned,” said Mickey.
“Are you out of your freakin’ mind?” exclaimed Nadia.
“Ya already know the answer to that question,” said Mickey
snidely.
“Marco will kill me.”
“The bargain is that I won’t kill you. I never said anything about anybody else.”
“I’ll be signing my death warrant.”
“Look at this way. Ya can die now or ya can take ya chances with
Marco. I would think about who ya think
is the most dangerous.”
Nadia did think about it and said, “Alright, alright. But I don’t like it.”
“Never said ya had to,” said Mickey and he untied her from the
chair.
Nadia was about to get up when Mickey pulled out a gun and
pointed directly at her.
“Don’t think about tryin’ anythin’. I’m a crack shot and I tend to hit what I’m aimin’ for.”
“You don’t have to worry about me. Just worry about your friends,
because I don’t think they’re just going to let us waltz out of here.”
“Lady, what they don’t know won’t hurt ‘em. Now let’s move. I still have one more stop to make ‘fore we blow this place,”
said Mickey motioning her to the doorway with his gun.
Nadia proceeded out the door while Mickey followed. She wondered what Mickey was after. It had to be something important for him to
take a chance like this. But once they
were on their way, Nadia forgot about and her only thought was one of escape.

The three men stood up on the desert hill that overlook the Larabee
Ranch.
They had noticed comings and goings of the occupants, but still
had not seen the one that they sought.
“No sign of Larabee, huh?” asked Devon, his nervousness around
these men showing through his comment.
“No,” replied Frank curtly.
He then turned to Jack and signaled for him to pass him the binoculars
that he was currently using to keep an eye on the house.
Jack passed the binoculars to Frank, smirking at the man next to
him. He did not like Devon at all. He knew the man feared them, as he should,
but he made no effort to hide his uncomfortable demeanor to them. This made him easy prey to their terrorizing
comments.
“We could just send you don’t there and see what kind of defenses
they have,” said Jack wickedly.
Devon stared at him with eyes of fear and watched as Frank
laughed heartily at how his comment and had unhinged the young man.
“Jack,” came Frank’s soft call. “Cut it out. We got work to do.”
“Ah, ha, there you are,” said Frank.
“What?”
“Look dummy,” said Frank handing Jack back the binoculars.
Jack looked through the item and saw two people, a man and woman
heading for a black truck.
“That him?” asked Jack quickly handing the binoculars over to
Devon.
Devon looked into the device and watched as he saw not only
Larabee, but his love, Nadia Diaz jumping into the vehicle.
“Yeah, that him and that’s Nadia,” said Devon angrily.
“Well, let’s go boys. We
got packages to pick up,” ordered Frank, as he took off running down the hill
towards where their car was parked.
Jack started to follow, but notice that Devon was not moving.
“You coming? We can’t
loose them,” said Jack hurriedly.
“Oh, we won’t. You can
count on that,” replied Devon as he started his run back to the car, with Jack
following closely behind.

Vin and the others were in the living room talking about what
would be their next plan, when they heard an engine start and a car burn
rubber.
They all ran to the windows and saw Chris’ black truck take off
down the road towards Vegas.
“Damn!” said Vin running for the bedroom where Chris should be.
He opened the door and only found a rumbled bed. He ran back to
the others quickly and exclaimed, “Chris is gone!”
“What the fuck is going on here?” yelled Buck.
“It seems Mr. Larabee has some plans of his own,” interjected
Ezra.
“Or it was the drug again,” came Nathan’s solemn statement.
“Ya think it was Mickey?” questioned Vin.
“Don’t know. Could be,” replied Nathan.
“Where’s Nadia?” asked Josiah.
“She is in the basement being very uncomfortable,” responded
Ezra.
“Go check. Make sure,”
said Buck.
“On it, Mr. Wilmington,” answered Ezra quickly walking to the
basement.
As they waited for Ezra’s return, the thought of their leader out
on the loose again was in the front of everyone’s minds.
“Shouldn’t we be going after him?” asked Lucien, ready to run and
get in a car after his wayward brother.
The others just stared at him as if he had lost his mind.
“You do realize you are talking about Archangel Michael, don’t
you?” said Josiah.
“And what’s that suppose to mean?” asked Lucien.
“If he don’t want to be found, he won’t be found,” piped in
JD. “Remember last time how long it
took for us to find ‘im.”
“I guess you’re right,” said Lucien thoughtfully.
Just at that moment, Ezra came running into the room. “She’s gone,” he said.
“Damn! Damn! Damn!” exclaimed Vin. “JD, check to see if the disk is still in the laptop.”
JD ran into the other room where he had his laptop. He came back a few minutes later shaky his head.
“This is lookin’ more and more like the last few days,” said
Nathan.
“Yeah,” said Buck simply.
“Listen, Buck get the your truck ready to go,” said Lucien.
“Why? We just told you
how hard it’s going to be to find him,” replied Buck angrily.
“Buck! Just do like I said, okay.”
“Alright, Luc. I just
hope you know what you’re doing,”
“So do I, Buck. So do I.”
