Christopher Connell Larabee, grandson of Riddick the First, criminal and escapee from Butcher Bay, realizes that his life mirrors his grandfather.
Accussed of sedition and of being in colusion with Necromongers who want to revive the old ways, he is put into prison by his mother, the current Lord Marshal.
But that is the least of Chris' problems. He finds out from an ex-priest of the Old Church that being of a Furian, Necromonger and Elemental bloodline he is the only one who can save the Universe from the new threat that is coming.
Chris agrees to go and listen to Councilman Travis, but little do the others know that Chris has another agenda and that is to avenge the death of his wife and son murdered by members of a Necromonger cult called the Vicar.
While on his journey to New Mecca to meet with Councilman Travis, Chris discovers some things about himself and about the six men he meet on the way that astounds him. But will it be enough to defeat what's coming?
